Brian Harvey Cup THE INAUGURAL BRIAN HARVEY CUP A new tradition begins as two proud clubs come together to honour the life and legacy of a man who left a lasting impact on everyone he met. Brian Harvey (10th September 1949 - 9th July 2025) served as our club's president in 1986 and 1987, and was inducted into the HFNC 'Tiger's of Old' Hall of Fame (the highest honour the club has) in 2016. Brian was also involved in the Diamond Creek Football Club after his HFNC club involvement, serving as club president in 1996 through 1998. He was made a life member in 2012. Join us as Diamond Creek Football Netball Club and Heidelberg Football Netball Club battle for the inaugural Brian Harvey Cup — a match dedicated to celebrating Brian's passion for football, friendship, community and club spirit.  Saturday 13 June 2026  2:10pm First Bounce  Coventry Oval, Diamond Creek Round 9 Other Round 9 games this weekend: Senior Women vs Lower Plenty, at Lower Plenty Oval, 7.00pm Friday. Under 19s (2s) vs Lower Plenty, at Lower Plenty Oval, 9:40am Saturday. Under 19s (1s) vs Diamond Creek, at Coventry Oval, 9:40am Saturday. Reserves vs Diamond Creek, at Coventry Oval, 11:55am Saturday. Round 8 Reviews Senior Women "St Mary’s unbeaten run remains intact thanks to a dominant 81-point win over Heidelberg. The Burra were always in control and had the game in hand by half time when the score read 60-1 in their favour, keeping the Tigers goalless for the match to record their seventh win of the season. Megan Girolami and Jii Williams kicked three goals each for the winners and Mikayla Plunkett and Kiara Delia were among the best players for St Mary’s. Rebekah Miller again earned the nod for Heidelberg as their best player as they battled through the afternoon along with Mikayla Lee and Chloe Edmends." NFNL Heidelberg Golf Club Division 1 – Round 8 Review Senior Men "The highly anticipated grand final rematch failed to live up to expectations as Heidelberg produced another dominant display over Hurstbridge to remain undefeated and cement its position at the top of the ladder, now ten points clear of second-place Montmorency. After a competitive opening half, the Tigers completely took control after the main break, restricting Hurstbridge to just one goal in the second half on their way to a commanding 79-point victory. Heidelberg’s midfield once again set the tone, led by the ever-reliable Tom Keys. Keys continued his stellar season with 28 disposals and an outstanding 14 clearances, consistently giving his side first use in the midfield. He received excellent support from a deep midfield group, with Luke Bunker collecting 31 disposals, Matthew McInerney finishing with 28, and 27 apiece to Nathan Honey and Dylan Clarke. Blake Fitzgerald continued to work tirelessly for the Bridges despite the heavy defeat. Fitzgerald gathered 36 disposals, including 18 contested possessions, while also recording eight marks and eight clearances. Cameron Wild was another strong contributor with 22 disposals. The result sees Heidelberg continue its unbeaten run, while Hurstbridge slips to third place after another difficult challenge against the competition benchmark." NFNL Melbourne Greyhounds Division 1 – Round 8 Review Framed HFNC Jumper at Barklys Hotel What a pleasure it is to be a part of this amazing community! The Creekers kept pace for the first three quarters, but Heidelberg pulled away to win well in the final term kicking four goals to one in a 10.8-68 to 6.4-40 victory. Three goals apiece to Alice Jesser and Isabella Parnell was the catalyst for the Tigers’ second win of the season. Caitlin Basham, Nikki Watts and Mikayla Lee also putting in strong performances for the visitors." Heidelberg Golf Club Division 1 – Round 7 Review Senior Men "Heidelberg was forced to work hard for its 31-point win over Eltham, with the Panthers remaining competitive for most of the afternoon. The reigning premiers created plenty of opportunities but struggled to make the most of them early due to inaccurate kicking in front of goal. Eltham took advantage and stayed within striking distance heading into the final quarter. However, Heidelberg showed its class late in the game and produced a dominant final term to secure another important victory. Tom Keys was outstanding for the Tigers and dominated around stoppages all day. Keys finished with 32 disposals, 27 contested possessions and 15 clearances in one of the best individual performances of the season. Luke Bunker also impressed with 29 disposals, while Dylan Clarke added 25 touches in another strong performance." Round 7 Our Senior Women are back playing this week against Diamond Creek at Plenty War Memorial Park on Sunday, starting a 3.00 pm. Our Under 19s 2s Mens are playing Laurimar at Laurimar Reserve, starting at 9:40am on Saturday. Our Mens Under 19s 1s, Reserves and Senior teams return home to play against Eltham, at 9:40am, 11:55 am and 2:10pm respectively. NFNL Round 6 Senior Mens Review "Heidelberg’s unbeaten run remains intact after the Tigers powered past Bundoora by 48 points in another dominant display from the reigning premiers. While the Bulls were competitive early, Heidelberg completely took over in the second term with a devastating nine-goal-to-one quarter that broke the game wide open. The Tigers’ ball movement and midfield pressure proved too much for Bundoora to handle as Heidelberg improved to 6-0 and further cemented itself as the benchmark of the competition. Luke Bunker was excellent with 26 disposals, while Dylan Clarke added 22 disposals and five clearances in a strong all-round midfield performance. Solomon Mackay also played an important role with 21 disposals and six inside 50s as Heidelberg consistently generated scoring opportunities." https://nfnl.org.au/melbourne-greyhounds-division-1-round-6-review/ (No NFNL review for our Senior Womens team as they had a bye last week.) Dan O'Dwyer 100 Games 100 games in the black and yellow for Dan O’Dwyer  From starting out as a junior at Yea, playing senior footy at just 15, to earning a spot on the Williamstown list in 2019 and finding his way to the Bergs through a Franky Rasso connection — Dan has built a pretty special journey. Since arriving at Heidelberg, he’s become a massive part of our football club. Along the way he’s also spent his summers dominating up north with the Waratahs, including a premiership in 2022/23, and had a season at Preston in 2023 alongside Nathan Honey, who also played his 100th game for the club the week before last. Most importantly, he’s been part of an unbelievable era at the Berg, helping deliver premierships in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025. What stands out most is his leadership. Dan is the type of player that makes the people around him stand a little taller when he’s out there. He is a very special person to HFNC and we cannot thank him enough for what he does for our club Congratulations to Dan. Our Mens Reserves and Mens Seniors are also playing Bundoora at Yulong Reserve, at 11:55 am (Reserves) and 2:10 pm (Seniors). Our Senior Women have a bye this week. NFNL Round 5 Reviews Senior Womens "Heidelberg and Montmorency played off in the closest result of the weekend, with Montmorency winning its third game of the season by 19 points at Warringal Park." https://nfnl.org.au/heidelberg-golf-club-division-1-round-5-review/ Senior Mens "Heidelberg cruised to a big win in the final game of the day, demolishing West Preston Lakeside at Warringal Park by 127 points. It was always going to be a tough ask for the Roosters who were able to match the Tigers early on, but the home side eventually flexed their muscles as they so often do to put a big margin on the scoreboard. Jack Andrew kicked seven goals for the home side, with Zane Barzen (four), Tom Keys and Brayden Sier (three apiece) all getting involved. Solomon Mckay was also impressive in his first appearance of the season, coming back from VFL commitments." https://nfnl.org.au/melbourne-greyhounds-division-1-round-5-review/ Congratulations Nathan Honey On behalf of the Heidelberg Football Club, we would like to congratulate Nathan Honey on his 100th game for the club last Saturday. Nathan began his senior career with Heidelberg in 2017 as an 18-year-old. In his first season, he played in the reserves, winning the Best and Fairest, whilst also making his senior debut. He then moved into the seniors the following year and, in 2021, joined the Northern Bullants where he played for the next three years. During this period, he remained aligned with Heidelberg and was part of the club’s 2022 and 2023 premiership teams before deciding to return to Heidelberg full-time. Since returning he has been a member of the club’s 2024 and 2025 premiership teams. Nathan has been a significant part of the clubs success, and a key leader of HFNC. We thank him for his ongoing contribution and wish him all the best in the years to come. From the Heidelberg Faithful  Speducci Again! ROUND 8 - SPEDUCCI IS BACK AFTER HIGH DEMAND!
