Our Under 19s 2s team played their grand final last weekend against South Morang, and unfortunately missed out by only 9 points.
However, what a remarkable year for our team that puts us in great stead for the 2027 season.
They started in Division 3 before being regraded up into Division 2.
They then ended the season 3rd on the ladder in Division 2.
Their finals campaign then brought them into the Division 2 Grand Final.
In the grand final, unfortunately only 6 points were scored in the first half. However, the team rallied together after half time, and got within 9 points of the win.
While not the ideal outcome, the Under 19s 2s 2026 season is a remarkable achievement that the players, coaches and the club should be very proud of.
Bring on 2027!
Sammy Gilmore, our senior ruck, former captain and one of the best people and players around our club has taken out the 2026 NFNL League's Best and Fairest medal. This is a remarkable achievement in particular because of the personal issues Sam and his wife Mads have had to deal with during the season this year that kept Sam away from playing for 7 weeks.
This award goes to show exactly what sort of person Sam is, and we're so very lucky to have Sam and Mads involved in our club.
In another remarkable achievement for 2026, Luke Bunker has won the NFLN 2026 Coaches MPV. Again. For the 3rd time in a row.
Just remarkable.
